What is valet mode?
Valet mode is a safety convenience feature standard on all Arctic Start remote start and security systems. Valet mode disables all system features other than lock or unlock; such as, remote start, alarm triggers, and trunk release. Valet mode is used when the vehicle will be operated by someone who is unfamiliar with an Arctic Start system. Valet mode can be temporarily activated to prevent unintended use of the system’s many features. When the vehicle is returned to you, a few simple steps will set the Arctic Start system back to its regular operation.
How do I activate valet mode?
To activate valet mode on your Arctic Start system, follow these easy steps.

Remote: On your Arctic Start remote, press the lock and trunk buttons simultaneously for 1 second. This will activate the valet function. Holding the buttons down for longer than 1 second may prevent the function from activating. There is no visual or audible indicator of the system activating this feature. However, to test your system for valet, simply press the lock or unlock buttons on your Arctic Start remote and notice if the parking lights flash. During normal operation, parking lights will flash once for lock and twice for unlock.

Key: Using your vehicle’s ignition key, turn on the vehicle’s power a total of 5 times within a span of 5 seconds. The key must only turn from OFF to ACC or (OFF to ON), please do not start the vehicle’s engine during this procedure. You may notice your parking light indicators will turn on and off several times, this is an indicator of your system entering and exiting remote programming mode. Please do not press any buttons on your Arctic Start remote at this time. Valet mode will be automatically activated by the system upon completion of the programming cycle.

How do I deactivate valet mode?
To deactivate valet mode and resume normal operation of your Arctic Start system, follow these easy steps.

Remote: The same steps to activate valet mode are also used to deactivate the feature. Once more, on your Arctic Start remote, press the lock and trunk (I and III) buttons simultaneously for 1 second.

Key: At this time, a procedure for deactivating valet mode with an ignition key is not available.
